FORGING AHEAD

Sometimes the preparation for racing can be a lonely, isolating and costly experience; especially these days in lockdown with all the restrictions. We are grateful to all our sponsors for sticking with us and the support they give us with discounts on products. It really helps as we continue to compete in an expensive sport that we love. We are constantly looking for sponsorship from anywhere and then completely out of the blue we received a response from a company that Ritchie had found whilst researching performance pistons to refresh the ZX10-R for next year.

The company is Wössner and they are based in Germany. So, we wrote to them, explaining what we would like to do with the bike and our plans for next year. We outlined Ritchie’s achievements over the past 4 or 5 years and asked if they would sponsor us in Bemsee’s MRO Powerbikes in 2021. We were so pleased that they came back to us with such a positive response. They said they would supply pistons at a 100% discount.

We were absolutely overwhelmed by such a generous offer. Well, they turned up looking like jewels in a gift box – Christmas came early! Seems a shame to hide them in the engine! But that’s where they’ll be doing their stuff, alongside a few other tuning improvements we’ll be making, to increase the performance of our 2014 Kawasaki ZX10-R.
