KEEPING ON THE
RIGHT TRACK
It's not always the winning that counts.
It's also about working on a motorcycle and understanding it; knowing what it takes to make it not only go fast, but to stop or turn quicker; making the suspension work so it hooks up and grips better. Everything is a challenge at a race track - not just the guy in front of you.
We've learned a lot over the years being involved in bike racing, from Motocross to Road Racing; on every circuit, in the wet or dry. We've learned from every crash - fortunately, there hasn't been many - to minimise the risk of it happening again. Sure, we know a rider has to beat the guy in front to make it all worthwhile, because that's racing, so we do everything we can to make sure our bike and rider are in the best position to do that before the red light goes out.

THE TEAM BEHIND THE MACHINES
The motorcycles Ritchie will be racing in 2021 are the 1997 Kawasaki ZX7R and a 2014 ZX10R.
Ritchie Thornton
RIDER
Ritchie Thornton has been racing
motorcycles for over half his life.
Racing is in his blood and he takes
it very seriously, enjoying every split
second of it; the good, and at times,
the not-so-good.
He is analytical about all aspects
of the sport and will not be pushed
into doing something he feels is
wrong. He is an honest and true
sportsman; quick to appreciate the
abillity of others. He is also equally
quick to learn from those who have
more experience and apply it where it matters...on the track.
Bernie Thornton
SPANNERS
If he's not checking tyre pressures, measuring fuel, changing tyres or helping set-up the bike with Ritchie; you'll find him putting the kettle on
for a brew.
Mechanic and tea-maker, Bernie is
no stranger to motorcycle racing; he was a racer himself many moons ago. He has supported Ritchie from day one; whether it was standing in a muddy field, as a typical motocross Dad, or keeping time on the pit-wall.
He's always around to make sure that all Ritchie has to do is concentrate
on the race.
Sue Thornton
TEAM BOSS
Not much gets past the Boss either. Sue is not shy when it comes to getting stuck in. When she’s not keeping times on the pit lane wall she’s on the go serving up excellent food and drinks to keep us going throughout practice and race days. Never one to turn away from a challenge either, you’ll often see her running around getting spares, helping us push the bikes to the scrutineering bay or hauling wheels up to get the tyres changed.
